If you are feeling excited about learning how to speak and understand Russian, this is the right place to study in Russia. Russian is a Slavic language in the Indo-European family. It is one of the most widely spoken native languages in Europe. The majority of Russian speakers live in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, with fewer speakers residing in former USSR republics and other countries around the world with a large immigrant population from the former Soviet Union.

Learning Russian as a foreign language requires time and dedication. We recommend that you study in a Russian language course a few minutes a day on a regular basis. The course lessons will teach you essential Russian grammar and vocabulary words and phrases you really want to use in a variety of situations.

Russian has preserved an Indo-European synthetic-inflectional structure, although considerable leveling has taken place. Russian grammar encompasses

  • a highly synthetic morphology;
  • a syntax that, for the literary language, is the conscious fusion of three elements;
  • a polished vernacular foundation;
  • a Church Slavonic inheritance;
  • a Western European style.

The spoken language has been influenced by the literary one but continues to preserve characteristic forms.
